That's the classic scenario behind burst pipes in empty houses — frozen water expands, splits pipework, and the damage appears when someone finally turns the supply back on. Also check insurance conditions: many policies impose requirements on unoccupied properties in winter, sometimes specifying minimum temperatures or drain-down.

Lagging priorities

Not all pipes need equal attention.
