Our Partner Standards
Every engineer in the network signs up to the same standards — and stays in the network only while they keep them.
Before joining
We verify current Gas Safe registration for anyone taking gas work (checked against the register, not taken on trust), OFTEC registration for oil, MCS certification for heat pump installation, and G3 qualification for unvented cylinder work. Alongside that: public liability insurance to a stated minimum, trade qualifications or demonstrable time-served experience, and a review history consistent with turning up, pricing honestly and fixing things properly.
On every job
Prices agreed before work starts — stated rates and parts approval for repairs, fixed itemised quotes after survey for installations. Out-of-hours premiums declared at booking, never on the doorstep. Customers told honestly when a fault can safely wait for a cheaper standard slot, when a repair is worth more than a replacement (and when it isn't), and when the honest answer is that the problem isn't the boiler at all. No DIY-gas advice given to customers under any circumstances.
Staying in the network
Registrations and insurance are re-verified on renewal. Complaints are investigated with both sides heard; patterns of pricing surprises, no-shows or poor workmanship end the relationship. Any engineer found giving customers instructions to work on gas appliances themselves is removed immediately — that one isn't a warning offence. We would rather have fewer engineers than defend bad ones.
