My radiator valve is leaking — is that urgent?

It's urgent-ish: a slow gland leak wets carpet and drops boiler pressure but rarely floods. Put a container under it, top up the boiler pressure if needed, and book promptly. A valve spraying rather than weeping is a call-now situation — isolate both radiator valves and phone.

Why is my radiator cold at the bottom?

Sludge — corrosion debris settled inside the panel, blocking circulation across the bottom. One radiator can be removed and flushed; several cold-bottomed radiators suggest the system needs cleansing and inhibitor, possibly a powerflush. Bleeding won't help; that's for cold tops.

Why is my radiator cold at the top?

Trapped air. Bleeding the radiator releases it — a minute's job with a bleed key, then re-check the boiler pressure and top up via the filling loop if it's dropped. If the same radiator needs bleeding every few weeks, air is getting in or being generated somewhere, and that's worth diagnosing.
