E01 on an Alpha is the ignition lockout on most models: the boiler failed to establish a flame during start-up and has stopped, holding the code until the cause is addressed and the boiler manually reset. What the E01 code means
Alpha's start logic follows the universal sequence — prove the fan, open the gas valve, spark, confirm the flame — and E01 records that the flame never established within the window. The lockout is deliberately hard: the boiler will not cycle endless ignition attempts against an unknown failure.
